Welder nabbed for robbing church

ECHAGUE, Isabela – A 46-year-old welder was arrested for allegedly robbing a church in Barangay Malitao here on Monday, April 1.

The suspect was identified as Edison, 46.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect forcibly entered the church by destroying the door lock.

While inside, he forcibly opened the galvanized donation box and took the cash donation amounting to more or less P20,000.

George, a church worker, discovered the robbery and reported the incident to the police.

Police conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect in a follow-up operation.

Recovered from the suspect were a hammer, flashlight, and P2,271.

Suspect was taken to the Echague police station for documentation and proper disposition.
