P8.4-M dried marijuana stalks torched

KIBUNGAN, Benguet – Police discovered 70 kilograms of dried marijuana stalks worth P8.4 million from two plantations in an eradication operation in Sitio Todag, Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet on Good Friday.

Police Col. Joseph Bayongasan, Benguet police chief, said these were burned on-site.

Samples were taken to the provincial police headquarters for qualitative tests by the Regional Forensic Unit- Cordillera.

Bayongasan said thy are conducting a follow-up investigation to identify the cultivators.

Police was assisted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
