The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) announced that it has appointed Jose Ma. K. Lim, current director of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), as its temporary President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective this month.
According to a statement released on April 1, Lim, who also serves as a chairman of the LRMC Executive Committee, will be the head of LRMC on an interim basis.

Notably, Lim was also a former president and CEO of MPIC.
He will replace the company’s former president and CEO Juan F. Alfonso, who will take on a leadership position in the Metro Pacific Light Rail Corporation (MPLRC), owned by MPIC and Sumitomo Corporation.
MPLRC is also one of LRMC’s major shareholders.
The company lauded Alfonso’s six-year leadership that saw the rehabilitation of LRT-1 and development of the soon to open LRT -1 Cavite Extension Project-Phase 1, noting his commitment to “service excellence” while leading the firm.
In conjunction with the new CEO, LRMC’s former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Enrico R. Benipayo was also welcomed as the new General Manager effective this April.
The company cited Benipayo’s 35-year professional experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and maintenance and consultancy.
