Mayor Honey commends members of MPD, LGU for safe Semana Santa 2024

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan commended the members of the local government unit and Manila Police District who kept the city peaceful and orderly during the observance of Holy Week.
The mayor lauded all the departments, bureaus, and offices in Manila that remained open and operating during the Holy Week, some of whom were on standby to respond to cases of emergency.
Among the LGU offices that continued operations were the Department of Engineering, the City Electrician's Office, the Department of Public Services, the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau, the City Markets, and the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
Lacuna-Pangan also praised the MPD under its director, Brigadier Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, for monitoring all the places of convergence for religious activities.
"Pinupuri at pinasasalamatan natin ang MPD sa mapayapang prusisyon ng Nazareno sa Semana Santa (We commend and thank the MPD for the orderly Lenten procession of the Nazarene)," she said.
She also expressed her gratitude to the Catholic devotees for their solemn cooperation in the religious activities and practices.
Meanwhile, the local chief executive called on the city officials and employees to use their “renewed energy" in performing their duties and serving the public.
"Sana kayo ay nkapagpahinga, nakapag-recharge at nakapagbigay ng panahon upang magdasal at i-observe ang Semana Santa. Gamitin po natin ang panibagong buwan at panibagong pagkakataon upang gampanan nang maayos ang ating mga tungkulin dahil gaya ng lagi kong sinasabi, bukod sa pamilya ay tayo ang inaasahan ng bawat isang Manileño (I hope you were able to rest, recharge and make time to pray and observe Holy Week. Let's use the new month and new opportunity to perform our duties properly because as I always say, apart from the family, we are what every Manileño expects," the mayor said.
