Man dies in Easter Sunday motorcycle crash

BACOLOD CITY – A 29-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle crashed in a sugarcane field in Barangay 1-A, Manapla, Negros Occidental on Easter Sunday.

Police identified the victim as Kier John dela Peña of Barangay Purisima in Manapla.

Police Major Robelito Mariano, Manapla police chief, said the victim was reportedly speeding on his way home and failed to calculate his speed upon approaching the curve part of the road.

Mariano said the victim was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
