Malabon LGU begins implementation of Single-Ticketing System
By Hannah Nicol
The Malabon City government announced that the Public Safety and Traffic Management Office (PSTMO) had started implementing on Monday, April 1, the Single-Ticketing System (STS) in the city.

The system is mandated under City Ordinance No. 03-2023, which adopted the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) Resolution No. 23-02, S2023, on the Single-Ticketing System through the establishment of the Metro Manila Traffic Code (MMTC).
The city will begin enforcing fines and penalties for common traffic violations in line with the regional standard.
To ensure the effective implementation of the STS, additional traffic enforcers will be deployed throughout the city.
The move aims to streamline the process of issuing citations and paying penalties, ultimately reducing opportunities for corruption.
The STS had undergone a pilot run conducted by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in May last year across five cities in Metro Manila.
The PSTMO relocated its office in Barangay Potrero to the Malabon Sports Center in Barangay San Agustin starting April 1.

The Registration Section which handles vehicle registration is now located near the poolside area, while the Traffic Permit and Redemption Section which facilitates license redemption is now located on the side of the Malabon Sports Center.
The Metro Manila Council (MMC) had earlier announced that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will grant local traffic enforcers in the National Capital Region (NCR) provisional authority to issue citation tickets.
This move is transitional and was aligned with the Supreme Court’s ruling for local enforcers to comply with the MMDA's single-ticketing system.
