Kathryn Bernardo on forgiveness: 'You can forgive people who deserve it'

Four months after breaking up with actor Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo shared her thoughts on forgiveness, stating that she can only give it to people who deserve it.

Kathryn opened up about forgiveness in an interview with Mega Magazine uploaded online on April 1.

On forgiveness, Kathryn said: 'I don’t know,' she takes a long breath. 'Ang lalim kasi ng word na forgiveness. For me, you can forgive people who deserve it. But when I forgive you, it doesn’t mean that I have to keep you in my life.

"I forgive you for my peace of mind, for clarity, and for everything. But it doesn’t mean na puwede kang bumalik.

"There is a silent understanding: to give respect for whatever good we had in the past. I think that is where we should be right now. I don’t want to force things if I’m not yet ready. Let’s just leave it that way," she said.

Kathryn, who turned 28 on March 26, said she never imagined herself in this situation and then overcoming it. "Depende. But distance is my way of protecting my peace.”
