Police Brig. Gen. Reynaldo Pawid, PRO-8 director, attributed the effective management of the influx of tourists, churchgoers, and other travelers to their strategic efforts and intensified security coverage.
Pawid also cited the enhanced collaboration of the police with other concerned law enforcement agencies and local government units.
He added that PRO-8 intensified visibility and patrol operations, particularly in churches, pilgrimage sites, and tourist destinations.
Police assistance desks (PADs) in strategic locations were set up to provide immediate assistance to the public.
Around 3,000 uniformed personnel were deployed for the Holy Week until the end of the “summer” vacation on May 31.
