CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A said on Monday that the Holy Week in Region 4-A or the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area was generally peaceful.

PRO 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas attributed this to the heightened police presence and the conduct of Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) before the Holy Week.
He said this proactive approach, coupled with the implementation of "Oplan: Huliweek," yielded positive results, particularly in areas with religious shrines such as the provinces of Rizal, Batangas, and Quezon.
Lucas said there has been a notable decline in crime incidents across the region from March 19 to 30.
In Rizal, crime incidents decreased from 102 to 64, while in Batangas, these dropped to 85 from 129.
Quezon province recorded a decrease in peace and order indicators from 26 to 19 during the same period.
Crime statistics revealed significant shifts across various categories from March 25 to 30 compared to March 19 to 24.
Theft incidents decreased from 26 to 18, indicating a positive trend towards reducing property-related offenses. Homicide incidents remain stable at four, suggesting a consistent level of severity in violent crimes.
Instances of rape decreased from eight to four, indicating potential improvements in addressing crimes against individuals.
Furthermore, incidents of physical injuries decreased from seven to three, reflecting efforts to minimize interpersonal violence, while motorcycle carnapping incidents were stable at two.
Total crime incidents in the region decreased 16.91 percent from 816 to 678.
PRO4-A has demonstrated a continuous decrease in the monthly eight-focused crime trend from 442 incidents in January 2023 to 307 as of March 30.
Lucas thanked lawmen for their dedication and hard work during the Holy Week. "During critical periods like the Holy Week and summer vacation, our commitment to maintaining peace and order remains steadfast. We stand resolute in our duty to uphold the law and protect the public, ensuring a safer and more secure community for all," he said.
He also expressed gratitude to the public and other law enforcement agencies for their cooperation and support. "Your invaluable cooperation and support during this crucial time are deeply appreciated. It is through our united effort that we can achieve success.”
