The Las Piñas City government unveiled the first ever "Mayor’s Gallery" showcasing how Las Piñas was developed and became one of the progressive cities in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The city’s Tourism and Cultural Office chief Paul Alhjay San Miguel and staff did an extensive research on the works of the mayors in the city starting in 1908.
San Miguel said students and residents may visit the ‘"Mayor’s Gallery" located at the second floor of Las Piñas City Hall for them to know the history of the city.
He said the unveiling of the gallery was held during the celebration of the city’s 117th founding anniversary and 27th cityhood anniversary on March 27.

The program began with a historical recount of the city's origins, providing a deeper understanding of Las Piñas’ development from its early days to the present.
Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the first woman mayor of the city in 2017 up to present, took the helm following the stint of her husband, former Mayor Vergel Aguilar.
Aguilar, a teacher by profession, had received several awards for serving the city and residents well.
She was awarded as the “Most Outstanding City Mayor with the Cleanest City” by the National Capital Region Police Office. The city was named the “Safest City” by the Southern Police District.
The mayor was also recognized by the Commission of Senior Citizens Office for her continued programs and services for the city’s senior citizens.
