Choco Mucho, PLDT gun for share of lead

Choco Mucho and PLDT try to catch up with solo leader Creamline when they face separate opponents on Tuesday, April 2, at the resumption of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Toting identical 5-1 win-loss records, a victory for both the Flying Titans and the High Speed Hitters would create a three-way tie on top with the Cool Smashers.

Choco Mucho clashes with Galeries Tower at 6 p.m., while PLDT faces Akari in the 4 p.m. opener.

The Highrisers and the Chargers sport identical 2-4 cards in the middle of the standings, and are coming off contrasting fortunes before the weeklong break.

Galeries Tower are coming off back-to-back victories over Capital1 and Strong Group Athletics to end its four-game slump, while Akari is nursing a recent three-set defeat to Choco Mucho.

Still, expect the two teams to go all out against their fancied rivals to catch up at the leaderboard.

For Choco Mucho, it is time to double its efforts to keep the momentum going and bolster its semifinal aspirations with Sisi Rondina, Maddie Madayag and Royse Tubino leading its offensive assault against Galeries Tower’s Grazielle Bombita and Audrey Paran.

PLDT, meanwhile, seeks for its third straight win with Savi Davison expected to lead the charge after scoring 42 points in their last two games.

Also out to provide offensive help are Majoy Baron and Erika Santos, along with setter Kim Fajardo.
