Rape suspect arrested after evading police for 10 years
A rape suspect who evaded the police for more than a decade was finally captured in Taguig on March 8.
The Southern Police District (SPD) only identified the suspect by his alias, Tony, 30, who was arrested in Barangay Sta. Ana in Taguig by a combined team from the Taguig Police’s intelligence operatives and the District Special Operations Unit.

Tony is wanted for rape. His warrant of arrest with no bail recommended was issued by Judge Leili Cruz Suarez of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 163 on Sept. 9, 2013.
During the arrest, a hand grenade was seized from him by the police.
According to the police, Tony was allegedly involved in recent robbery incidents in Las Piñas. He is suspected to be involved in two convenience store robbery incidents on Feb. 29 this year in Barangay Manuyo Dos, and on March 1 in Barangay Talon Tres, Las Piñas City.
CCTV footage from both incidents suggested a consistent method of the perpetrators, brandishing an unknown caliber weapon, declaring a hold-up, and taking cash before fleeing on a black plateless motorcycle.
The police also said Tony was involved in robberies in Angono, Rizal; Taguig, Paranaque, and Cavite.
During the operation, Tony’s two companions were also arrested, identified as alias Mark, 39; alias Alex, 40; and alias Aga, 23.
Mark, a construction worker, was arrested for obstructing the arrest, while Alex was found in possession of a .45 caliber 45 pistol with four rounds of ammunition.
Aga, also a construction worker, was found in possession of a .38 caliber pistol with two live ammunition.
None of the arrested suspects was able to produce valid documents for the firearms and hand grenade in their possession.
The suspects are under the custody of the Taguig Police. Tony is charged for rape and will be charged for illegal possession of explosive.
Alex and Aga will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition), and alias Mark will face charges for obstruction of justice.
