MPD hunts down pedicab driver who stabbed man dead in Tondo
Police are hunting down a pedicab driver who killed a 21-year-old man in Tondo, Manila on Thursday, March 7.
The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as “Julius”.
Prior to the incident, police said the suspect, who was already drunk, had an argument with another pedicab driver, Ronnie delos Santos, over a parking space on Delpan Street on Recto Avenue, Tondo, at around 8:47 p.m.
At the peak of their altercation, the suspect tried to stab Delos Santos with a fan knife but he manage to dogde the attack.
The victim, Christian Bustillo, came to help Delos Santos, but he also had an argument with the suspect.
During the argument, the suspect pulled out the fan knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.
The suspect immediately fled from the crime scene.
The victim was rushed to Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
A follow-up operation is still ongoing for the suspect's arrest, police said.
