Isolated rain showers to be expected in parts of the Philippines due to 'amihan', easterlies
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, March 9, said the northeast monsoon still prevails in the Northern and Central Luzon, while the easterlies affect the rest of the country.

PAGASA said Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains, while Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan.”
Meanwhile, Caraga, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in the affected areas in times of moderate to heavy rains.
The rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA still warned the public of threats from flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
