Far Eastern University bounced back in convincing fashion with a 25-13, 25-22, 25-17 drubbing of Adamson in the first round of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday, March 9, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Lady Tamaraws snapped their back-to-back losses to improve with an even 3-3 record in the standings.

FEU was coming off a tightly contested five-set defeat at the hands of top seed University of Santo Tomas before falling short against the National University Lady Bulldogs in four sets.

Rookie Faida Bakanke top-scored for FEU with 14 points off 13 attacks made, while Chen Tagaod and Gerzel Petallo had 12 markers apiece in the balanced effort. 

The Lady Falcons, meanwhile, couldn’t carry over the momentum from their four-set victory against University of the East Lady Warriors and slid to a 2-3 slate in the standings.

FEU displayed composure from start until the match point despite Adamson’s fightback in the second set.

Ayesha Fuegos paced the Lady Falcons with 10 points built on nine attacks and a single block.
