The Angels outhustled the resilient attempts of the Akari Chargers to prevail 25-21, 25-23, 25-17, while the Foxies edged the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16.
Brooke Van Sickle pumped in 24 points on 18 kills, four aces and two blocks for Petro Gazz, which clinched its second straight win to improve their win-loss slate to 3-1 in tie with the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
The win also pushed Akari to 1-4, with CJ Soyud scoring 13 points in a losing effort.
The Angels also got a big lift from Jonah Sabete, who delivered 12 points all from the attack line.
Trisha Tubu and Chinnie Arroyo, meanwhile, resumed their charge for the Foxies after firing 18 and 11 points including a combined 28 of the team’s 48 attacks.
Farm Fresh took advantage of Chery Tiggo’s weak serves by converting attacks on all angles, while also limiting skipper Aby Maraño and Mylene Paat to single digits with four and eight points, respectively.
Only Eya Laure shone for the Crossovers with 11 points.
Farm Fresh evened its record to 2-2 and forged a tie with Chery Tiggo.
