SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Seventy-four jobseekers were hired on-the-spot in the recent Ayat Fest La Union Fair 2024 at the CSI Mall here.

Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David said on Saturday, March 9, that the main objective of the activity in line with the 174th founding anniversary of the province is to help connect jobseekers with employers and, in turn, empower the workforce which will positively impact local economic growth.
“Every secured job offer entails development for our beloved province of La Union,” she said.
A total of 3,006 job vacancies were offered by 32 local and five overseas companies from La Union and nearby provinces in the job fair conducted by the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
A total of 289 jobseekers registered online and 346 were walk-in jobseekers.
“We hope that by doing these, we also help pursue your dreams in your process of successfully securing career positions. Kaya napakasaya po ng puso ko na ginagawa po natin ito (I am happy that this) as part of the 174th La Union founding anniversary,” Ortega said.
