Police Capt. Louie Jay T. Felipe, police chief here, identified the driver of the Victory Liner bus with body number 7252 as Lunie B. Andoy, a resident of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
A motorcycle driver, Roland Basug, 29, a local government unit employee and resident of Barangay Santa Catalina, this city, was hit by the bus and died on the way to the hospital.
Police said the bus enroute to Manila was overtaking a vehicle and encroached on the opposite lane and rammed Basug’s motorcycle. Andoy lost control of the bus and plunged into a three-meter ravine.
Eighteen passengers and the conductor were injured and taken to a hospital. Sixteen of them have been released from the hospital and two are still recovering from injuries.
Felipe said that they have coordinated with other police stations, particularly in Tuguegarao City, to locate Andoy.
