BACOLOD CITY – An ambulance driver and a stroke patient were killed and three passengers were injured in a road accident in Barangay Bug-ang, Toboso, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, March 6.

Police Major Jun Ray Batadlan, town police chief, identified the fatalities as Richard Cordova, 56, ambulance driver, and stroke patient Elojaylo Bayona, 41. A midwife, a member of the patient’s family, and Cordova’s son sustained minor injuries.
Batadlan said that Cordova lost control of the ambulance while transporting Bayona from Toboso to a hospital in Sagay, Negros Occidental. The ambulance overturned in poorly illuminated area, Batadlan added.
Cordova and Bayona were declared dead in a hospital.
