Amid several issues being thrown at her, Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday, March 7, claimed that she is being targeted by an “organized demolition job” that’s being aimed for her to fail.

In a video statement, the official lamented how “black propaganda” is the “dirty part of politics” used against her by people who want to see her fail at her mandate to serve the people.
“Sinisiraan ako para pagdudahan, pahiyain, at panghinaan ng loob. Nais nilang isuko ko ang aking sinumpaang tungkulin na magsilbi sa bayan (I am being maligned for me to doubt myself, get embarrassed, and lose hope. They want me to give up my sworn duty to serve the nation),” she said.
“Ayaw nilang magtagumpay tayo para sa edukasyon ng mga batang Pilipino at para sa kanilang kinabukasan na nanganganib sa kamay ng korapsyon, kriminalidad, iligal na droga, at terorismo (They don’t want me to succeed for the education of the Filipino youth and for their future that’s at risk on the hands of corruption, criminality, illegal drugs, and terrorism),” she added.
The Vice President, who serves as Education chief in a concurrent capacity, said the issues being thrown at her are becoming “bolder” and “more desperate.”
“Bahagi ang mga ito ng isang organisadong demolition job na ang layunin ay sirain ang aking integridad at gumawa ng imahe na ako ay isang mamamatay-tao, na corrupt, abusado, taksil at isang war lord (This is part of an organized demolition job that’s aimed to destroy my integrity and create an image that I’m a murderer, corrupt, abusive, treasonous, and a war lord),” she furthered.
The official mentioned some of the issues thrown her way since last year, including the confidential funds mess, the traffic in Commonwealth Avenue allegedly caused by her convoy, and the criticisms about the number of her security personnel.
Duterte also said she is being attacked through a witness pointing to her role in the Davao Death Squad, as well as claims that she received guns from the embattled Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
While it’s rare for her to mention her marriage, Duterte also lamented how even her relationship with her husband is being targeted.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) isn’t immune to these issues, too, because online scams claiming that her office will provide certain grants and scholarships are proliferating on social media.
“Tandaan po natin na ang mga paninirang ito ay nagkukubli ng mga personal at politikal na interes. At ang mga ito ay hindi ninyo interes, hindi interes ng bayan, hindi ito interes ng Pilipinas (Let us remember that these character defamation reveal personal and political interests. And these are not your interests, not the interests of the nation, not the interests of the Philippines),” she said.
Duterte then thanked her supporters for their support in her mandate to improve the quality of education in the country.
