ILOILO CITY – Police Col. Ronaldo Palomo recently marked his first year as head of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office.
Palomo said there has been a significant gain against crime in Iloilo.

“Your Ilonggo cops have achieved accomplishments because of your trust and active participation. This proves that when everyone actively plays their part, we can more efficiently address and prevent criminal activities, ultimately leading to a safer and more secure province for all of us,” said Palomo.
The IPPO confiscated 18,092.43 grams of suspected shabu worth P123 million from March 4, 2023 to March 3, 2024, compared to the 3,001.16 grams in the same period the year before.
Four-hundred sixteen drug suspects were arrested in 328 anti-drug operations, 220 more than the 196 apprehended in 157 operations in 2022 to 2023.
Police in the 42 towns and component city of Passi arrested 1,423 wanted persons, including 386 considered as most wanted persons in the past 12 months, 16.93 percent more than 2022.
One-hundred fifty-four illegal firearms were seized and 143 persons were arrested in 162 operations from 2023 to 2024.
Lawmen impounded 199 boats and confiscated P1.1-million worth of fish in 210 anti-illegal fishing operations, P600,000 than two years ago with P488,051.
The strict implementation of the provincial ordinance against illegal quarrying apprehended 355 truck drivers.
Aside from intensifying police operations, Palomo also strengthened partnerships with other government entities and private organizations.
