A new batch of young and empowered candidates walked the center stage as they competed for the crown of Mutya Ti La Union 2024. 

Miss San Juan Prianka Elina Goswami (18) was crowned Mutya Ti La Union 2024 during the grand coronation held at Poro Point Baywalk, City of San Fernando on March 2.

Despite being the youngest among the 20 candidates from different towns of La Union, Prianka showed her powerful presence from the closed-door interview up to the grand coronation.

With the theme #LaUnionEmpowHERMent, Prianka highlighted her advocacy of giving more opportunities to solo parents, as she was raised by her single mother.

"Having a solo parent is a rare opportunity to become the young and empowered woman, I am today. As an advocate for solo parents, it is my duty to expand the horizon and opportunities for solo parents," Prianka said during her opening speech.

During the final five of the pageant, each candidate was given the same question that talked about how will they contribute to La Union's transformative government.

Prianka's winning answer. "Empowering myself and the women around me is essential for my personal growth and the development of my community. I believe that empowerment begins with self-confidence and self-awareness, recognizing this, I would be able to inspire and uplift my people. This could be simple by offering words of encouragement, sharing personal experiences, and lending a listening ear."

After the final question and answer portion, it was time for the hosts to announce the winners for the Mutia Ti La Union 2024.

Celebrating La Union's 174th Founding Anniversary, the pageant highlighted a visually appealing show that represented colors and elements of La Union under the helm of Bernard Maybituin of Lumina Events Ph. 

Aside from its extravagant stage, Kapamilya actors Kyle Echarri and Joshua Garcia performed on stage to serenade the candidates during the swimwear and long gown competitions.
