Kai Sotto continued his impressive showing in Japan B. League following Yokohama’s huge 81-76 victory over Thirdy Ravena’s San-En on Wednesday night, March 6.
The B-Corsairs improved their overall standing with a 19-23 slate off back-to-back wins.

Sotto, who came up huge in Gilas Pilipinas’ campagn in the first window of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup barely two weeks ago, picked up where he left off in the Japanese league.
Before getting to back to his national team duty, the Filipino import gave Yokohama something to build on after posting back-to-back double-double performances and helped the squad get over its slump.
This time, the 21-year-old big man carried out a game-high 23 points on an efficient 11-of-14 shooting that went with 10 rebounds to tally another double-double output in a meaningful 27 minutes of play.
Sotto came through when it mattered most, with eight of his 23 points accounting for the team’s final six-minute push including the go-ahead hook shot that gave Yokohama a telling 78-76 advantage over San-En with over a minute to spare.
“It was a tough game. San-En is a really, really good team. They’re a top team in the league. So everybody in the team just came out with full effort. It was a great team win. We’re very happy we got this win,” Sotto said.
San-En, prior to the FIBA break, led all teams in the standings following a record franchise 16-game win streak.
However, Ravena’s Neo Phoenix has found itself in a four-game losing skid as they slipped behind Utsunomiya Brex and Alvark Tokyo all the way to the third spot of the overall standings with a 34-8 record.
Ravena had 10 points, five rebounds and two assists for San-En in the losing cause.
The 6-foot-2 shooting guard, though, remained on track to becoming the second Filipino import to win a title in the Japanese league after Carl Tamayo’s successful debut last year with reigning champion Ryukyu Golden Kings.
