CEBU CITY – Another known personality here is willing to throw his hat in next year’s mayoral race.

Former city Councilor Joey Daluz, chairman of the Metropolitan Cebu Water District, said that if he is going to vie for a position in the city government, it should be for mayor. “If ever I’m going to run, I will run for mayor. Not for other position,” Daluz said.
While claiming that he has not yet decided if he will run for mayor next year, Daluz has been going around this city. “Now, I’m going around, but my early morning walk, it’s more of exercise, something like that, but at the same time, I’m getting the pulse of the people if they really want to change the current government,” Daluz said.
Should he decide to run for mayor, Daluz said he will tap former city Councilor Dave Tumulak as his running mate. Tumulak ran for mayor here in the last election but lost.
Former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas Regional Director and ex-Bureau of Customs Commissioner Yogi Ruiz had earlier announced that he will run for mayor of this city next year.
Mayor Michael Rama said that he will seek re-election next year. Former city Mayor Tomas Osmeña is willing to run for vice mayor if one of his allies will run for mayor.
Osmeña has pushed city Councilor Nestor Archival to run for mayor with him as his running mate.
