Las Piñas City Vice-Mayor April Aguilar assisted the 170 families who were victims of a fire last March 5.
Aguilar visited the 648 individuals who are staying in modular tents provided by the city government at the Elias Aldana covered court to personally check on their situation and render immediate assistance to them on Wednesday, March 6.
The vice-mayor said the city government will continue to assist the displaced families with emergency services and community support.
Aguilar said the incident highlighted the need to enhance fire safety awareness and community preparedness to prevent another fire incident especially during this Fire Prevention Month.

Based on the report of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire broke out at a residential area in Kurba in Barangay Elias Aldana, Las Piñas at around 1:23 p.m.
The BFP reported that around 150 house made of light materials were destroyed by the fire.
Three residents were injured in the incident. They were identified as Wenceslao Tolentino, 26; Norlita Tegero,55; and Jonniel Moya, 24, who all suffered from first degree.
The BFP said 21 fire trucks responded to the incident. It was declared fire out at 3:22 p.m.
The cause of the fire and the estimated damage to property are still under investigation.
