CIDG nets 52 lawbreakers in Cordillera

BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group nabbed 52 individuals in the campaign against crime in the Cordillera region last month.

PNP-CIDG-Cordillera Regional Director Police Col. Leon Talleo said 48 wanted personalities were arrested during the implementation of “Oplan: Pagtugis.”

Five were listed as top most wanted persons and 43 were wanted persons. Two of the TMWPs were regional MWPs, one was a provincial-level MWP, and two were municipal-level MWPs.

Three illegal bet collectors were caught in the anti-illegal gambling campaign dubbed “Oplan: Bolilyo” and one individual was nabbed during the implementation of “Oplan: Olea” or other law enforcement activities.

Lawmen seized a total of 200 empty cooking gas tanks with a total value of P250,000 in the campaign against the illegal refinery, manufacturing, importation, and retail of Liquefied Petroleum Gas dubbed "Oplan: Ligas.”

Talleo lauded operating units and assured the people that they would step up their efforts to combat crime. He urged the public to report suspicious individuals or activities to the police.
