CA confirms ad interim appointments of ex-PSG chief, 45 other military officials
The Commission on Appointments (CA) has approved the ad interim appointments of Brig. General Ramon P. Zagala, former chief of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), and 45 other flag officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Zagala, former Commander of the PSG, was appointed as commander of the Civil Relations Service of the AFP in October 2023. Brig. General Jesus Nelson B. Morales (PAF) replaced him as PSG chief.
Below is the list of the 46 flag officers and senior officers of AFP whose ad interim appointment were approved by the CA:

The CA Committee on National Defense panel, however, deferred hearing the ad interim appointment of Brig. General Ranulfo A. Sevilla after an opposition was filed against him.
The CA panel scheduled the hearing on Sevilla’s ad interim appointment to Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
Also during the CA plenary session, Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva took his oath as a member of the Commission on Appointments. He will serve as the Assistant Majority Leader and Chairperson of the Committee on Human Settlements and Urban Development.
