Beware of impersonators: DepEd urges public to report unauthorized personnel

The Department of Education (DepEd) on Wednesday, March 6, urged the public to report individuals pretending to be "authorized personnel" of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) or the Vice President and DepEd Secretary.

These individuals, DepEd clarified, have no affiliation with the OVP or any of their programs, particularly the School Building Program (SBP).

The department also reiterated that the School Infrastructure and Facilities (SIF) Strand is responsible for managing and coordinating inspections of school building projects.

Therefore, "no individuals, contractors, organizations, or even government agencies, are authorized to conduct such activities unless officially recognized and endorsed by SIF," it added.

Individuals can report directly or verify the identity of suspicious personnel by contacting the Office of the Secretary at [email protected].
