BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan – A newly freed man was found dead in Barangay Telbang here on Monday, March 5.
Police identified the victim as Arnold Iglesias Abalos, alias Nognog, 46.
Abalos had just been released on March 1 when he died.
Police received a report from a concerned citizen that the body of a man was discovered in Barangay Telbang.
Investigation said the victim was found by his brother Raulito, 53, lying on the ground in their backyard, wearing only his underwear and his short pants below his knees.
Blood was oozing from his head and believed to have been mauled by still unidentified individual.
Police are pursuing a person of interest and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, police arrested 58 individuals in the anti-crime campaign from February 25 to March 2 in Pangasinan.
Eleven buy-bust operation were conducted in which 12 suspected drug pushers were arrested and 13.965 grams of shabu were seized.
Eight persons were nabbed for illegal gambling and 34 wanted persons were apprehended.
