Mayor Francis ready to face senators amid alleged corruption in TUPAD program
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora is ready to defend himself before senators amid allegations of corruption in the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program in San Juan by Sen. JV Ejercito.

Mayor Francis Zamora
Kung meron silang ebidensya, sana may sinumpaang salaysay (I am just waiting for the senate if they will invite me to go there because that is my chance to show that I have nothing to hide. If they really do have proof of corruption, then they should present it. If they have evidence, then it should be accompanied by a sworn statement)," Zamora said.
(File charges against me if they want to, but if their evidence are just the two two-year-old videos where even one of the so called "witnesses" is already dead, then is that all they could present?)," he added.
Zamora said that if he were in the position of Ejercito, he would present concrete evidence of corruption such as affidavits, sworn statements, and even real people.
During his privilege speech on February 27, Ejercito presented videos of alleged corruption in the city's TUPAD program with one of the videos showing a certain San Juaneño claiming that he was allegedly instructed by the staff of a San Juan City councilor to give part of his social aid to the "mayor." The other video showed staff of the councilor allegedly counting their "kickback" from the social aid.
In response, Zamora urged the alleged witnesses in the videos to come to his office and file a complaint.
Titiyakin ko na nandoon ang mga kinatawan mula sa Philippine National Police (PNP) o National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), at Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) para mapalagay ang kanyang kalooban na siya ay aking pakikinggan ng patas at agarang paiimbestigahan ang kanyang inilahad na insidente (If this is true, I am inviting the San Juaneño in the video to come to my office and file a complaint. I will ensure that representatives from the PNP, NBI, DSWD, and DOLE are present to ease his worries and concerns and I will listen to him with fairness and will immediately investigate the incident)," Zamora said.
I'm also encouraging the person in the second video to proceed to my office, again in the presence of representatives from government agencies, to ensure that the incident, which I will never allow and tolerate, will be given immediate attention and action)," he added.
