'Hindi mine-mekus mekus': Tulfo says House Cha-cha discussions are balanced, transparent

Deputy Majority Leader ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo highlighted on Tuesday, March 5 the "well-balanced" nature of the ongoing Charter change (Cha-cha) deliberations in the House of Representatives.
Tulfo---in a press conference held alongside the Committee of the Whole's discussion on Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) No.7--assured the public that there were no shenanigans involved with the process.
"So, yung [the] discussions po about this amendment of the Constitution is well-balanced because meron po tayong invited guests from opposition, may mga pros and cons so that the lawmakers will be able to hear yung kanilang mga sides.
(We have invited guests from the opposition, there are pros and cons so that the lawmakers will be able to hear their sides.)
The deputy majority leader for communications continued: "So that’s what we’re doing right now and we’re doing it live para (so that) people can watch."
"Para ika nga, in the interest of fair play at makita ng mga taong bayan what’s really happening at hindi mine-mekus mekus ika nga itong [Cha-cha] natin. So, that’s what we’re doing right now.
(We're doing this so that, in the interest of fair play, the public would see what’s really happening, and that there's no shenanigans with our Cha-cha.)
Tuesday was the Committee of the Whole's fifth day of tackling RBH No.7. The measure seeks to ease the restrictive economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution.
