Erwin Tulfo's peeved response to Imee Marcos: 'Wala kaming pakialam kung magpalit sila ng liderato'

House Deputy Majority Leader ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo flatly said that he doesn't care about the supposed coup issue at the Senate.

This was the gist of Tulfo's reaction on Tuesday, March 5 to the statement of Senator Imee Marcos that rumors of the coup against Senate President Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri originated from the House of Representatives.

"Wala ho kaming pakialam kung magpalit man sila ng liderato. Magtambling-tambling ho sila doon, wala ho kaming pakialam doon," a somewhat peeved Tulfo said during a press conference.

(We don't care if they change their leadership. Even if they do somersaults there, we don't care.)

"Bahala ho sila sa buhay nila, malalaki na ho sila, matatanda na rin ho sila (They ought to live their own lives, they are all grown up and old also)," added the deputy majority leader for communications.

Senator Marcos' accusation of rumor-mongering on the part of House members was just the latest in the series of spicy comments of the two co-equal legislative chambers about each other.

Tulfo, a popular broadcaster, admitted to hearing about the Senate coup, but said that House members didn't give it much thought.

Besides, the House has been busy with the Committee of the Whole deliberations on Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) No.7 since last week.

“Naririnig ho namin, pero hindi ho kami pwedeng makialam dyan. Kumbaga sa bahay ho, bahay ho nila 'yun eh. Bakit ho natin papakialaman? Eh yung nagsabi ho siguro na dito ho galing sa atin, I don't know kung saan po nakuha iyon,” he said, referring to Senator Marcos.

(We've been hearing about it, but we can't meddle with it. It's happening inside a different house, so to speak, and not inside my house. Why should we meddle? As for the person who said that the rumor came from us, I don't know where she got that.)

Tulfo gave another message, but for his fellow congressmen this time: "We just keep on moving forward, let’s do our job kasi marami pa hong dapat gawin (because we still have a lot of things to do).”
