PINUKPUK, Kalinga – Soldiers discovered war materials hidden in an abandoned New People’s Army camp in Sitio Tappo, Barangay Limos, this town, on Saturday, March 2.

Major Rigor Pamittan, spokesperson of the 5th Infantry Division, said its location was disclosed by a concerned citizen to the 103rd Infantry Battalion Mobile Community Support and Sustainment Team (MCSST).
A team was dispatched to verify the report and they found a caliber .45 pistol, an empty magazine for a caliber .45 pistol, a claymore mine, six rifle grenades, two 40mm cartridges for M203 grenade launcher, four serviceable keypad cellphones, three commercial radio chargers, and expired medicines.
Lt. Col. Joel V. Lucas, 103rd IB head, lauded the community and their continuous commitment and support to government peace and security initiatives.
