TAGUDIN, Ilocos Sur – An Overseas Filipino Worker and his back rider were killed in a collision between their motorcycle and a passenger bus in Barangay Bimmanga here on Sunday, March 3.
Police identified the victims as Jaypee de Fiesta Fabro, an OFW from Barangay Pudoc East, this town, driver of the motorcycle, and his back rider Melvin Collado.
Police are reviewing surveillance footages and gathering information from witnesses to obtain full details of the accident.
But initial investigation said the bus was Manila-bound and the motorcycle was north-bound when the accident happened.
Victims sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
The driver of the Transport Pro bus, Herbert Paridayon Verdadero, 50, from Barangay Cali, Dingras, Ilocos Norte, and his passengers were unhurt.
Meanwhile, two bodies were unearthed in a coffee farm in Sitio Malo, Taggat, Barangay Cudal, Tabuk City, Kalinga, on Sunday.
Police Capt. Ruff Manganip, Kalinga police spokesperson, said the cadavers were discovered by a farmer harvesting coffee beans.
The farmer sought assistance from the police who found two decomposing bodies, that of a man and woman. The woman was wearing a diaper.
