Despite all the glitz and glamour, Jaclyn Jose feels emotional about living alone.

During her December 2022 interview with Ogie Diaz's YouTube show, Jaclyn shared that she still feels hurt living alone without her daughters Andi and Gwen.

"Masakit at malungkot, kaso wala akong choice kasi ayokong pigilan yung mga anak ko sa gusto nilang gawin," Jaclyn said. 

(It's painful and sad, but I don't have a choice because I don't want to stop my children from what they want to do)

Jacyln's eldest Andi Eigenmann, now lives in Siargao with her fiance Philmar Apayo. Her youngest son Gwen Guck, is currently living in the States. 

Although it was a tough decision for her to let her kids wander off through the realities of life, the actress mentioned during the interview that she wanted to have her kids live their lives to the fullest. 

"Kung ano man yung gusto nilang tahakin, gusto ko silang hayaan. Kasi I want them to enjoy life, kasi life is short, it may sound cliche pero ayun ang gusto ko for them," Jaclyn said. 

(Whatever they want to go, I will let them do it. Because I want them to enjoy life because life is short. It may sound cliche, but that's what I want for them)

She also shared that it took her quite some time to let her youngest child study in the US.

"Syempre nagdalawang isip ako, sabi ko sa kanya (Gwen) dito ka na magtapos, at tsaka wala akong kasama," Jaclyn said. 

(Of course, I had second thoughts, I told (Gwen) can you finish your studies here. Besides, I don't have anyone with me) 

After a few convincing, Jaclyn was able to send her son to the States to study after telling her, "Nanay, it's not gonna be forever, that I'm gonna be with you. Let me live a life."

Eventually, Jaclyn did get the hang of being away from her kids, but there are times that she still gets sad when she communicates with them. 

"Nalulungkot pa rin ako. Lalo na yung sa bunso (Gwen) ko, I can't get to hug or hold him," Jaclyn said. 

(I'm still sad. Especially with my youngest (Gwen), I can't get to hug or hold him)

What she learns from Andi as mom

Aside from being an actress herself and a mom, Jaclyn admitted that she learned a lot from Andi when it came to being a mom. 

"Marami akong natutunan kay Andi. Well for one yung pareresign niya para sa mga anak niya, hindi ko kaya gawin yun. Dun ako bilib na bilib sa kanya, kasi kinalimutan niya lahat," Jaclyn said. 

(I learned a lot from Andi. Well for one, she resigns from her job as an actress to be with her kids. I can't do that. I was very impressed with what Andi did because she forgot everything for her kids) 

It could be recalled that Andi has left the spotlight for good and chooses to live her Island life in Siargao. 

"Nung nagdecide si Andi na lumipat sa Siargao, hindi ako nagdalawang isip at hindi ko siya pinigilan. Si Andi ay buo siya magdesisyon, hinahayaan ko siya kahit sa career niya," Jaclyn said. 

(When Andi decided to move to Siargao, I didn't think twice and I didn't stop her. Andi makes her own decisions. I let her decide even in her career) 

During the time Andi decided to leave showbiz for good, Jaclyn mentioned that she respects and understands her daughter's decision to live a normal life. 

"Naintindihan ko (Andi), kasi ako nga eh, napapagod, ayoko naman yung anak ko ganun din. Pero si Andi hindi naman magrereklamo, mabilis siya magtrabaho kasi gusto niya matapos lahat. Hindi sa pagmamalaki magaling si Andi," Jaclyn added. 

(I understood (Andi) because like me I also get tired. But I don't want my child to be like that either. But Andi didn't complain. She works quickly because she wants to finish everything. I'm not imposing anything but Andi is good) 

Another thing that Jaclyn loves about her daughter is how she takes care of her three kids Ellie, Lilo, and Koa. The actress recalled a story where Andi carried her two kids while strolling around a mall. 

"One time nasa mall kami, buhat-buhat niya yung dalawang bata, tapos ang bilis pa maglakad and wala siyang pakialam sa tao, kaya bumulong ako sa kanya sabi ko "Andi wala ka sa Siargao, nasa Makati ka.' And sabi niya sa akin, 'I don't care,' " Jaclyn added. 

(One time we were at the mall, she was carrying the two children, then she was walking fast, and didn't care about people. So I whispered to her and said, "Andi you are not in Siargao, you're in Makati". And she said to me, "I don't care")
