Easterlies expected to bring hot weather, rain showers to most parts of the Philippines
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, March 4, that hot weather with rain showers is expected in most parts of the archipelago due to the easterlies.

In the PAGASA's 4 a.m. public forecast, weather specialist Obet Badrina said that while the northeast monsoon dominates extreme Northern Luzon, easterlies affect the rest of the country, where hot weather is expected.
"Inaasahan natin ngayong araw medyo mainit na tanghali pa rin ang ating mararanasan at sa mga susunod na araw ay mas iiral pa nga ang easterlies o iyong hanging nagmumula sa karagatang Pasipiko" (Today, we expect to experience slightly hot weather in the noon time and in the following days, the easterlies or the winds from the Pacific Ocean may continue to prevail even more)," Badrina said.
PAGASA said Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela will have cloudy skies with light rains caused by the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan."
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be felt due to the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, and localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in high-risk areas during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, from March 5 to 7, the actual air temperatures in some key areas are as follows: Metro Manila (24°C to 33°C); Baguio City (16°C to 25°C); Legazpi City (24°C to 32°C); Davao City (24°C to 32°C); Cebu City (25°C to 32°C); Iloilo City (25°C to 32°C); Tacloban City (24°C to 31°C); Cagayan de Oro (24°C to 31°C); and Zamboanga (24°C to 34°C).
