Andi Eigenmann reveals cause of Jaclyn Jose's death

Former actress Andi Eigenmann has announced the passing of her mother, award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose (real name Mary Jane Guck) at the age of 60.

In a livestream on March 4, Andi read a statement with her half-brother Gabby Eigenmann joining her.

"It's with great sadness, that I announce the untimely passing of my nanay Mary Jane Guck better known as Jaclyn Jose at the age of 60, on the morning of March 2nd, 2024, due to myocardial infarction or heart attack. 

"We'd like to thank everyone, who has sent their extended prayers and condolences to us. As our family, tries to come to terms with this unfortunate incident, please provide us with respect and privacy to grieve and we hope to put all the speculations to rest.

"I'd just like to say that her undeniable legacy will definitely forever live on through her work, through her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she's touch. 

"As she herself, her life itself was her greatest obra maestra. Thank you."

Showbiz personalities including, Dimples Romana, Kylie Padilla and Gardo Versoza paid tribute to the veteran actress. 

Jaclyn started her career in TV series from the 1990s to the present. She became the first Filipino actress to win the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016, after her excellent performance in the film "Ma'Rosa" directed by Brillante Mendoza.  

Some of her dramas include "Mula Sa Puso," "Marimar" and "Alyas Robinhood." She made her last TV series appearance on the Kapamilya TV series "FPJ's Batang Quiapo," playing the role of jail Chief Dolores Espinas.  

Her last film gig was the movie "Pieta" starring Nora Aunor, directed by Adolf Alix Jr.
