K-pop boy band BTS member Jin has started the countdown to his discharge from the Korean military.
“D-100,” posted Jin on the Weverse app on March 4, referring to the 100 days left before he finishes his military service.

Jin enlisted on Dec. 13, 2022 and will be discharged on June 12 this year, or a military service period of 18 months. He was the first member of BTS to enlist in the military.
He entered the training camp at the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province and has been serving in the Army.
After finishing his basic military training, he was appointed as assistant instructor at the recruit training center.
Fans have also started their countdown until Jin is discharged from the military.
“hi jin,,so excited to see u comeback. miss u so much,” one fan wrote on Weverse while another commented, “We are waiting for you. I miss you.”
All BTS members are on hiatus because of their military service. They are aiming to regroup in 2025 after all members have finished the mandatory duty.
Besides Jin, BTS member J-Hope will also be discharged this year.
After Jin, J-Hope enlisted on April 18 last year and will be discharged on Oct. 17 this year.
Suga enlisted on Sept. 22 last year and will serve for 21 months as a social worker or public duty personnel, an alternative form of military service. He will be discharged on June 21, 2025.
RM and V enlisted on Dec. 11 last year and will be serving for 18 months. They will be discharged on June 10, 2025.
Jungkook and Jimin entered the military on Dec. 12, last year. They will also serve for 18 months and will be discharged on June 11, 2025.
All Korean men are required to undergo military service.
