BACOLOD CITY – A total of 91,954 passengers were recorded in various seaports in Negros Occidental from March 22 to Easter Sunday.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Northern Negros Occidental said 46,493 were outbound and 45,461 were inbound passengers.

Commander Paterno Belarmino Jr., head of the PCG-Northern Negros Occidental, said the situation in seaports was peaceful and orderly based on their monitoring and assessment.
Belarmino added that no significant incidents were reported during the Holy Week and that they will remain on heightened alert until April 2.
A total of 79 PCG personnel and 69 PCG auxiliaries and volunteers were deployed.
The PCG inspected a total of 447 vessels and 195 motor bancas.
Belarmino said that Coast Guard personnel have also been maximized in beach resorts for the influx of people especially during Easter Sunday.
Meanwhile, Belarmino said that one drowning incident was reported in the province, in Lakawon Island in Cadiz City on Maundy Thursday.
Belarmino said according to the victim’s family, he was spear fishing when he suffered an asthma attack and drowned.
