As another entry to his #BiyaheNiLuc series, European Union Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Veron shared about his Easter Day visit to Siquijor.

The envoy was one of thousands of Filipinos who left the city during the Holy Week to spend some time with nature as he revealed his latest visit to the Central Visayas province marks the 53rd province he had set foot in the Philippines.
“Happy Easter from #Siquijor! With this visit, I've now explored my 53rd province and I’m always amazed by the beauty of the Philippines,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“Wishing everyone a meaningful #Easter celebration! #BiyaheNiLuc,” he added, using the hashtag he earlier created to record his tour of the country.
The ambassador even shared a photo of him looking at Siquijor’s pristine waters while standing on fine white sand as a tree framed the picturesque scene.
Filipinos traditionally flock to the provinces during Holy Week as Metro Manila’s infamous roads get a breather from the traffic.
Easter Sunday marks the last day of the Lenten Season in the Christian calendar.
For a predominantly Catholic country, Easter Sunday is the most important Sunday for Filipino Christians as it marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after he died on the cross.
