Senior citizen drowns on Black Saturday

ANDA, Pangasinan – A senior citizen drowned in the sea in this town on Black Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Remedios Castrence Caras, 78.

A neighbor, former barangay councilor or kagawad, Cosme Garibay Bravo, 68, discovered Caras’ body floating on the shallow part of the sea near her house.

Bravo called for help and a doctor of the Rural Health Unit here declared Caras dead. 

The victim was last seen on Saturday morning bathing her dog in the shallow part of the sea.

Police said that the victim drowned.
