Farmer drowns on river in Isabela

SAN MARIANO, Isabela – A 36-year-old farmer drowned while swimming on a river in Barangay Minanga here on Black Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Richard Bular, a resident of Barangay Old San Mariano, this town.

Investigation said the victim and his family were having a picnic on the riverside when he decided to swim on the river.

Bular, who was drunk, was taken away by the strong current and drowned.

Residents retrieved the victim and was taken to a hospital but died on the way.
