TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Police destroyed 15,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P3 million in two plantations during an eradication operation in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga on Maundy Thursday.
Police Col. Freddie Lazona, Kalinga police director, said joint operatives from the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Kalinga raided the two plantations with a total land area of 1,200-square meters.
These two plantations were discovered through assets.
Lazona said that operating troops uprooted and burned these marijuana plants onsite.
Samples were taken to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit for testing.
No cultivator was caught during the operation.
