Former National Security Adviser (NSA) Clarita Carlos is saddened by the state of tourism in the country, but is still hopeful that the concerned agencies can turn things around.
In a recent Facebook post, Carlos, one of House Speaker Martin Romualdez's advisers, lamented over how local tourism spots simply can't compete with those from other countries when it comes to cost.
"Tragic that some tourist places here are pricing themselves out of market as it is cheaper to tour abroad... so so sad...," she wrote.
Carlos discussed her thoughts further in the comments section of her post.

She revealed an advice that she gave to DOT Secretary Christina Frasco.

"I hope these two agencies will really involve DOT…," said the retired professor of political science.
