Resort lends religious images for Good Friday procession

TIAONG, Quezon â€“ Religious images owned by the Villa Escudero Plantation and Resort here were featured in a procession on Good Friday in this town.

THE La Pieta when the body of Jesus is cradled by His mother the Blessed Virgin Mary after His crucifixion was among the religious images featured in the Good Friday procession in Tiaong, Quezon.

Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea thanked Villa Escudero, an active supporter of the tourism industry in Quezon province, for lending six of the eight carriages in the procession.

Mea said this collaboration supported by the Parish Pastoral Council of San Juan Bautista is a major step towards the return of a religious and noble Christian tradition in this town.

In General Luna, Quezon, Mayor Matt Erwin Florido said about 500 penitents atoned for their sins and several local artists performed in the Buhay na Kubol Festival on Maundy Thursday.

The Buhay na Kubol are various structures in different locations that showcase the 14 Stations of the Cross.
