Job-order gov't employee drowns on Good Friday

GONZAGA, Cagayan – A job-order employee of the Philippine Statistics Authority allegedly drowned while swimming in a beach resort in Barangay Amunitan here on Good Friday.

A JOB-order government employee drowned in Cagayan on Good Friday.

Police identified victim as Rebecca de Leon, 50, of Barangay Baybayug, Alcala, Cagayan.

The victim and her relatives visited the beach resort and decided to swim in the sea.

De Leon’s relatives later on saw the unconscious victim being carried by people to the shore.

The victim was taken by rescuers to the Alfonso Ponce Enrile Memorial District Hospital here where she was declared dead.
