DOTr assures completion of MRT-3 maintenance on Easter Sunday

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said that the Holy Week maintenance works at Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will be completed on time.
DOTr Asst. Sec. and MRT-3 Officer-in-Charge Jorjette B. Aquino said maintenance works at the train line are expected to be finished on Easter Sunday, March 31.
"Ginagawa po natin tuwing Holy Week ang mga maintenance activities na ito sa buong MRT-3 railway system para naman po mapanatili natin 'yung maayos na kondisyon ng ating mga tren, tracks, signaling, power supply at mga pasilidad (We have been doing these maintenance activities in the entire MRT-3 railway system every Holy Week to preserve the good condition of our trains, tracks, signaling systems, power supply and facilities)," Aquino said.
She made rounds in the depot and mainline of MRT-3 on Good Friday, March 29, to ensure that the maintenance works scheduled that day were being conducted.
These include maintenance at the rolling stock, power supply, overhead catenary system (OCS), mainline tracks of MRT-3.
Also part of the schedule were bogie frame repair works at the depot, preventive maintenance of low voltage panel at Shaw Boulevard Station, and rail grinding works at the mainline.
"Napakahalaga po na nasusunod itong mga scheduled maintenance works para na rin maiwasan ang pagkakaroon ng aberya sa ating operasyon (It is very important to complete these scheduled maintenance works on time to avoid hitches in our operation)," Aquino shared.
Once the maintenance works are completed on Easter Sunday, the MRT-3 will be back to regular operation on Monday next week, April 1, in time for the return of the commuters from the Holy Week break.
