The warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, known as easterlies, will persist throughout the country for the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, March 28.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Aurora and Cagayan Valley due to the easterlies.
Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas during moderate to heavy rains, PAGASA warned.
Meanwhile, Villamil said the rest of the country may experience hot and humid weather until early afternoon, with possible isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
However, PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms can also cause flash floods or landslides.
Actual air temperature ranges for March 29 to April 1 in some key areas are as follows: 24–34°C in Metro Manila, 23–35°C in Tuguegarao City, 16–27°C in Baguio City, 21–33°C in Tagaytay City, 25-32°C in Legazpi City, 26–34°C in Puerto Princesa City, 26-32°C in Metro Cebu, 24-33°C in Cagayan de Oro City, 24–34°C in Metro Davao, and 25–35°C in Zamboanga City.
PAGASA said the country may remain cyclone-free for the remainder of March.
