K-pop boy band Super Junior’s Ryeowook revealed that he is getting married.
In an Instagram post on March 29, Ryeowook, 36, announced that his wedding will be held at the end of May. The bride will be Ari, 29, a former member of K-pop girl group Tahiti.
In September 2020, Ryeowook was confirmed to be dating Ari.

In his letter, Ryeowook said, “November 6, 2005 I first met the ELFs [Super Junior fans] in early winter when I was 19 years old. Now I have become 38-year-old Kim Ryeowook, 20 years since my debut.”
“As you all know, I have a friend that I am seeing. During the time we spent together, I naturally developed a desire to become another family with her. It is not a sudden decision, but we have been thinking about it for a long time and after a long discussion with the members and company, we will be getting married at the end of May this spring,” he said.
“Nevertheless, I will continue to show everyone who supports me on stage with the members and wants to listen to my songs that I will continue to work hard as Ryeowook of Super Junior and as Ryeowook the singer. I would also like to thank our members and the SM company for supporting and giving me strength in my decision,” he added.
SM Entertainment, Super Junior’s agency, confirmed the marriage announcement and said the wedding will be held in private.
“We bring you news about Super Junior's Ryeowook. Ryeowook is getting married to his girlfriend at the end of May,” it said.
It added, “The wedding will be held privately out of consideration for the bride-to-be and her family, so we ask for the understanding of fans and reporters.”
“In the future, Ryeowook will continue his activities as a member of Super Junior and as an artist and will show his good side. We hope you will send a lot of support and congratulations to Ryeowook as he prepares for a new start in life,” it said.
Ryeowook debuted in Super Junior in 2005 while Ari debuted in Tahiti in 2012. Tahiti performed in Manila in January 2013 at the Dream K-pop Fantasy Concert together with Girls' Generation, Infinite, U-KISS, EXO and Tasty. Tahiti disbanded in 2018.
