The local government of Malay town, Aklan province will enforce the yearly ban starting 6 a.m. on March 29 until 6 a.m. on March 30 or Black Saturday.

Mayor Frolibar Bautista said in Memorandum Order No. 2024-36 that they will strictly implement the ban.

Bars and resorts that will defy the order by hosting parties or playing loud music will be penalized.

The Malay town council passed a resolution in 2009 banning parties and loud music in Boracay as part of respecting Christian traditions on Holy Week.

Catholic visitors spending the Holy Week in Boracay can visit the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Church in Barangay Balabag.
